Prayers for week beginning 22nd Feb

Monday: Prayer based on ‘Our Father in Heaven’.

Heavenly Father, please help us to truly know You, to bless, worship and praise You for Your almighty power, wisdom. kindness and mercy. Help us to direct all our living, what we think, say and do to bring honour and praise to You. Thank You that we can call You Father and that we can talk to You knowing that You listen to us and desire the best for us, for you are a prayer-hearing God, majestic and merciful, King and Father, above us and yet ready to come to us. Thank You Heavenly Father. Amen

Tuesday: Prayer based on ‘Hallowed be Thy name.’

Heavenly Father, You are sovereign, holy, unchanging and eternal. Help us each day to walk in the truth that you are wise, all-powerful, all-knowing and ever-present and as we do so cause us to hallow Your name, reverencing, honouring, esteeming and treasuring You above all else. You are faithful and loving, lavishing us with Your grace and mercy, even in our sinfulness. We praise You for who You are, the Great “I AM”. Hallowed be Your name forever and ever. Amen.

Wednesday: Prayer based on ‘Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done on Earth as in Heaven’.

Heavenly Father, we thank You that Your Will is perfect and we come to You today seeking Your Will and purpose for our lives. We lay aside our goals and plans and pray that Your Will be done in our life. Help us to be sensitive to Your Spirit and Your voice and be obedient to it. We know that Your will alone is good, please help us to carry out the work we are called to do as willingly and faithfully as we can. Help us to submit more fully to Your will for our life and to say as Jesus said, ‘not my will, but Your will be done.’ Please bring Your kingdom more fully in our lives, our churches, homes and towns. Amen

Thursday: Prayer based on ‘Give us this day our daily bread’.

Heavenly Father, we thank You that You fulfil our spiritual needs, You satisfy our spiritual hunger and as we pray, ‘give us this day our daily bread’, we thank You for Your great provision for our daily needs. Please help us to trust in Your provision every day and align our hearts and prayer requests to Your Will. You are great and loving and know exactly what is best for each one of us, You know what we need and when we need it for every area of our life. Amen

Friday: Prayer based on ‘Forgive us this day our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.’

Heavenly Father, today we thank You for Your most amazing gift of forgiveness and we pray that You would forgive us this day for those things we have done, said and thought that are not of You and by Your grace wash us and make us clean.  Thank You that You are faithful and just and when we confess our sins you forgive us and cleanse us. Help us we pray to forgive others in the same way that you have forgiven us and to bless those who have hurt us. Help us to walk in righteousness, peace and joy demonstrating Your life here on earth. Amen.

Saturday: Prayer based on ‘Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.’

Heavenly Father, by ourselves we are so weak and fail to hold our own even for a moment, Lord we pray that You would uphold us and make us strong with the strength of Your Holy Spirit. We thank You that You are faithful and will not let us be tempted beyond what we can bear and will provide a way for us so that we can stand up under it. We thank You that You identify with our struggles and sympathize with our weaknesses and that we can approach the throne of grace with confidence to receive your mercy.
